At Holy Grounds, we’re taking a practical, people-first approach to loneliness and social isolation by growing a welcoming, community-focused cafe in Cathedral Square. At its simplest, the space is a place to gather. In practice, it’s a catalyst for connection. Our project is shaped by the community itself - by the ideas, needs, and curiosities people bring through the door. The cafe is sustained by the generosity of our volunteers and a small team of dedicated staff. Together, we lift up local voices, nurture relationships, and create moments that matter. We offer ways for people of all ages, cultures, and experiences to connect, participate, and feel a sense of belonging. Through inclusive programs, honest conversations, and collaborative community initiatives, we work to lower barriers that keep people apart, strengthen resilience, and build the wellbeing of our neighbourhood.
