Clontarf Academy Program

Description

The purpose of this funding is to provides mentoring and coaching to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male students in Queensland state schools who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging. The program offers a diverse range of in-school and extracurricular activities to encourage school attendance and active participation in learning. The program also builds on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male students’ passion for football to encourage behavioural change, including improving discipline, self-esteem, life skills and employment prospects. The Clontarf Foundation currently supports academies in 20 schools and can support up to 1,750 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male students.
