Through RNA sequencing analysis, the fellowship research discovered that combining PET scans with molecular testing can help clinicians distinguish between aggressive tumor biology and active immune responses, enabling more appropriate treatment selection. This approach aims to prevent under-treatment of aggressive cases while sparing patients from unnecessarily intensive therapy.
