Description

Women Philosophers on Nature & the Human: Toward a New Environmental Ethics. This project aims to investigate the neglected history of women's contributions to the debates concerning nature, the human, and their relation. By exploring how women–who were identified with nature–theorised these crucial categories, the project expects to generate new knowledge of a distinctive strand of ethical and environmental thought and demonstrate its continuing relevance. Intended outcomes include a new understanding of women’s contributions to philosophy, greater access to their works, and increased public awareness and appreciation of women’s role in European thought and culture. This should provide significant social benefits including the promotion of gender equality through the recognition of women’s intellectual history. . Scheme: ARC Future Fellowships. Field: 5002 - History and Philosophy of Specific Fields. Lead: A/Prof Dalia Nassar
