Go FOGO Round 6
Description
The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Go FOGO grants support NSW councils to deliver weekly food only (FO) or food organics and garden organics (FOGO) services to their communities.
Requirements Summary
NSW councils and local government-controlled organisations can apply for Go FOGO Round 6 grants to deliver weekly FOGO or FO services to households without organics service or with garden-only service. Applications open 1 May 2026 and close 2 July 2026 at 4:00 pm, with notifications expected late 2026. Funding amount depends on the number and type of households and type of service change. Services must be active within three years of approval. Councils with significant multi-unit dwellings may receive an additional $50,000 MUD payment. Applications are submitted via SmartyGrants and reviewed by an independent Technical Review Committee before CEO approval.
Eligibility Criteria
NSW councils and other local government-controlled organisations
Funding is only available for weekly FOGO or FO services (not garden-only)
Service must be active within three years of grant application approval
Funding supports rollout to households without organics service or with garden-only service
Councils with previous Waste Less Recycle More or Go FOGO funding may apply for households not covered by previous funding
Assessment Criteria
Verification that applicant meets eligibility criteria
Independent review of application by TRC; also assesses eligibility for additional MUD funding
Final decision by NSW EPA Chief Executive Officer
