Description

Data-driven modelling of dynamical systems: A measure transport framework. The reliable mathematical and computational modelling of complex dynamical systems, such as climate or biomolecular systems, is impeded by high dimensionality, interacting multiscale processes, and unknown physical principles. This project aims to significantly extend measure transport methods to overcome these challenges in a data-driven manner. Expected outcomes include a novel mathematical framework and fast, scalable numerical algorithms for extracting the evolution model of the relevant dynamical skeleton and quantifying associated uncertainties. This project should provide significant benefits to a range of applications, such as climate adaptation, by providing reliable data-driven forecasts and supporting informed decision-making..
