Description

Precision Nutrition through controlling the gut-particle biointerface . The project aims to enable more rational design of efficient food systems through understanding the complex interactions that occur between the surface of food particles and our gut. The project expects to generate new knowledge on how biomolecules in the gut interact with particles, using novel techniques to study the gastrointestinal processing of food. Expected outcomes of the project include developing new frameworks for the design of more efficient foods tailored to specific populations enabling a new concept of ‘precision nutrition’ and connecting industry with advanced techniques. This should provide significant benefits in efficiency of delivery of nutrition, food utilisation, and new product concepts for the industry partner.. Scheme: Industry Laureate Fellowships.
