Description
Computational design of frontier materials for sustainable technologies. This Laureate will establish a new and powerful computational materials research platform that uses cutting-edge ab initio calculations and artificial intelligence, to understand and design tailored structures that possess the required new and improved functionalities for tomorrow’s materials. In enabling the development of novel catalysts needed for the generation of green fuels and chemicals, and key quantum devices for quantum technologies, this Laureate promises timely support for Australia’s commitment to renewable energies, low emissions and its nascent quantum future. New and existing collaboration with leading international groups underpin significant national benefits including new disciplinary capacity and world-class research.. Scheme: Australian Laureate Fellowships. Field: 5104 - Condensed Matter Physics. Lead: Prof Catherine Stampfl
