Description

Understanding Reionization with the Murchison Widefield Array . Epoch of Reionization is the time during the first 10% of the Universes age when the first stars formed, and illuminated cosmic space with UV radiation that heated and re-ionized intergalactic atomic gas remnant from the time of the cosmic-microwave background. The Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) Epoch of Reionization key project has collected observations for the past 10 years, aiming to detecting re-ionization in low-frequency radio emission from the 21cm line of hydrogen. This project aims to complete the processing of MWA data to produce a final observational constraint or detection, and integrate these findings with detailed physical models to determine key properties of the first galaxies. .
