Description

Reducing ageism in healthcare. Ageism is a major threat to the provision of equitable and ethical healthcare. This project will leverage the expertise of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a) a detailed understanding of the risk contexts for ageism in healthcare environments, and b) an innovative suite of open-access, evidence-based resources for both healthcare provider training and for older people themselves. Key anticipated benefits include ensuring that, in the future, all Australians can access healthcare in age-friendly, inclusive environments. In addition to improving older adults' well-being, empowering older Australians to remain active, engaged, and independent for longer will also have important social and economic benefits, ultimately for us all.. Scheme: Linkage Projects. Field: 5201 - Applied and Developmental Psychology. Lead: Prof Julie Henry
