Description

Sabatier principle for electrochemistry in organic solvents. This project aims to provide a new framework for selecting optimal catalysts for electrocatalysis in organic solvents, providing an underexplored yet critical route to efficient and selective production of new fuels and valuable chemicals. This project is expected to generate new knowledge by establishing a solvent-sensitive principle to predict catalytic performance, complemented by advanced computational modelling and experimental validation. This new knowledge will be widely applicable, with the important issue of producing ammonia for fertilizer and energy storage explored in detail. Renewable energy-powered electrocatalysis is central to our transition to a sustainable future, and this project intends to enhance this process.. Scheme: Discovery Projects.
