Giving Philosophy

Bundanon supports arts practice and engagement through residencies, education, and cultural programs that connect art, nature, and community. The foundation champions experimentation across all artistic disciplines, particularly welcoming diverse voices including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, CaLD communities, LGBTQI+ artists, and artists with disabilities. Their approach emphasizes place-based creativity, professional development for artists, and preserving the cultural and natural heritage of the landscape.

Wealth Source:Gift of land and property from artists Arthur and Yvonne Boyd in 1993, now operating as a Commonwealth-funded cultural institution reporting to the Minister for the Arts

Tips for Applicants

Applications are highly competitive with only 30% success rate. Selection panels assess artistic merit and professional development benefit, while also considering artform diversity, geographic spread, cultural diversity, and balance between emerging/established artists. First-time applicants are strongly encouraged. Submit only best work samples (limited to 10 pages writing, 3 minutes video/audio, 5 images). Be specific about how Bundanon's unique landscape and facilities will benefit your project. Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, CaLD, LGBTQI+, and artists with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply. Note that Bundanon does not provide stipends, living allowances, or travel assistance, but can provide Letters of Support for grant applications.
