About

The Francis Gregory Foundation

Giving Philosophy

The foundation's giving philosophy is rooted in June Harvey's personal experience, where financial resources were a barrier to university education despite family assets in farming. It seeks to reduce these financial obstacles for Year 12 students from primary production families in Victoria, enabling them to pursue undergraduate university degrees who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

Wealth Source:The foundation's funds originated from the sale of the Gregory family farm at Lardner, Victoria. This land was initially selected by Francis Gregory in 1875, who was a pioneer settler, farmer, and butcher in the region.

Tips for Applicants

Applicants must be Australian citizens, registered 2025 VCE students with an ATAR score greater than 80, aged 17-20 years by January 1, 2025, and residents of a Victorian FZ zone residing on land providing family income (a statutory declaration may be required if not residing on the land). Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship and be proposing to accept a full-time undergraduate place at an Australian university in 2026 (or defer for a gap year). Applications are made on a supplied form available from October 10, 2025, and must be received by 5:00pm on January 9, 2026. Principal endorsement is required.
